Why get skinbooster in Stockholm?
Skin booster is an umbrella term for hyaluronic acid injections that improve skin quality — Profhilo is the most common, but Restylane Vital and Sunekos are also popular here. In Stockholm there is a trend towards choosing "the right skin booster for you" based on skin type and goals. Many Stockholm dermatologists and aesthetic physicians offer a "skin quality consultation" in which they recommend which skin booster best suits your particular skin. There is a very well-informed patient group here who ask detailed questions about ingredients and results.
Price level in Stockholm — what affects the price?
We only show price ranges when at least five clinics have stated a price with sufficient supporting data. When there is less data, we do not show an individual clinic's price as if it were a market price.
So compare the clinics' current price information and contact the clinic if the price or treatment plan is not clearly stated.
Many clinics offer "skin booster packages" of two sessions (two are usually needed) at a 15–20% discount.
- Stockholm women aged 30–50 are frequent users of skin boosters — it is widely accepted and common.
- Many people combine them: Profhilo for the face + Restylane Vital for the décolletage on the same day.
- Before photos focus on "glow" and "luminosity" — not on volume.
- Many men also have skin boosters here — professionals in tech, finance and media are big fans.
- A growing trend: "preventive Profhilo" among women from as early as 25–30 — before they see signs of ageing.
How does treatment with skinbooster work?
Skin boosters are injections of a hyaluronic acid-based solution (or other bio-regenerative substances such as Profhilo) that focus on improving the skin's overall quality, hydration and elasticity rather than adding volume. The treatment is spread over larger areas of skin to give an "injection of fluid" that makes the skin plumper, brighter and more radiant. It is sometimes called a "vitamin injection for the skin".

How the treatment is carried out — step by step
- 1
Skin assessment
The practitioner examines skin texture, dryness, elasticity and pigmentation to tailor the treatment.
- 2
Disinfection and local anaesthesia
The area is cleansed thoroughly. A local anaesthetic cream is applied to reduce discomfort during the injection.
- 3
Multi-point injections
The hyaluronic acid solution is injected in a grid pattern over the treated area (face, neck, décolletage). The treatment takes 20–30 minutes.
- 4
Massage and aftercare
The practitioner often massages the area to spread the substance evenly. You receive instructions for home care and for when you can expect to see results.
Recovery and aftercare
Skin boosters have minimal recovery time. Mild redness and possibly minimal swelling may occur but usually disappear within an hour or so. Results build up over the first 2–4 weeks as the skin's collagen production increases.
- Use a mild skincare cream after the treatment — avoid strong active ingredients for the first 48 hours.
- Drink plenty of water to support the skin's hydration.
- Avoid strong sun and use SPF 50+ sunscreen during the first 48 hours.
- Avoid harsh shaving, facial massage and active exercise for the first 24 hours.
- You can often return to normal activities the same day.
Who is suited to skinbooster?
Skin boosters suit you best if you want healthier, more radiant skin without changing its shape. They also suit you if you have dry, sensitive or inflamed skin and want to hydrate it deeply. They are NOT suitable if you only want fewer wrinkles — then botox is better. Nor are they suitable if you don't like seeing small bumps after the treatment on the same day.
Who is not suited to skinbooster?
The treatment is not suitable in the following situations. Always mention these during the consultation.
- Pregnancy and breastfeeding (precautionary principle — safety has not been fully evaluated).
- Active inflammation or infection in the skin (acne breakout, herpes, etc.).
- Allergy to hyaluronic acid or other ingredients in the skin booster solution.
- Certain autoimmune diseases.
- Use of blood-thinning medicines (may increase bleeding and bruising).
- Very dry or sensitive skin — may need pre-treatment.
Differences between brands
Several different products are used in Sweden. The differences are often small — which brand suits you is decided by your practitioner based on your goals and previous treatments.
Profhilo
Bio-remodelling hyaluronic acid injection that combines two different molecular weights for maximum collagen stimulation. Clinically proven for skin rejuvenation.
Jalupro
Italian skin booster with amino acids and hyaluronic acid. Stimulates natural collagen and elastin production. Often 4 treatments in a series.
NCTF 135 HA (mesotherapy)
Complex blend of hyaluronic acid, vitamins, amino acids and coenzyme Q10. Excellent for skin brightness and elasticity.
Sunekos
Combines hyaluronic acid with amino acids for optimal collagen production. Longer-lasting results than plain hyaluronic acid.
When will you see the results?
- Immediately afterSlight redness and a feeling of moisture in the skin. No significant swelling.
- Day 1–3The skin feels softer and more hydrated. Mild improvement in brightness.
- Week 2–4Gradual improvement as new collagen forms. The skin's texture becomes finer and pores look smaller.
- After 3–6 treatmentsA noticeable refresh of the skin as a whole. The skin looks brighter, firmer and more youthful.
- 6 monthsThe effect starts to wear off. Many continue with maintenance treatments 2–3 times a year to keep the result.
Risks and what to consider
Skin boosters are a very safe and gentle treatment. Common side effects are minimal redness and possible mild swelling the same day. Very rare complications include local infection (can be treated with antibiotics), sensitivity reactions to ingredients, or a temporary breakout on skin that is already prone to it. Most patients notice gradual improvement over 2–4 weeks as new collagen is produced. The result is subtle but noticeable — the skin feels softer, looks brighter, and fine wrinkles diminish.
Before your skinbooster in Stockholm
- Drink plenty of water for 48 hours beforehand — well-hydrated skin absorbs the hyaluronic acid better.
- Avoid strong skincare (retinol, BHA, AHA) for 3 days beforehand — it can irritate the skin.
- Avoid blood thinners 24 hours beforehand.
- Avoid scheduling important events on the same day and the next — you may see the swelling and the small bumps.
- Read up on the specific brand beforehand (Profhilo vs Restylane vs Sunekos) — it helps set expectations.
- Take a before photo at home so you can see the difference later.
