How we rank clinics
Skönhetskollen does not rank clinics on the basis of medical quality or treatment outcomes. We have neither the licence nor the mandate to assess healthcare. Here we describe exactly what determines the order in the lists and what the information level on the comparison page counts.
The order in the lists
Unless you choose a different sort order, clinics are shown in this order:
- Clinics with checked prices first – more checked prices give a higher placement.
- Then a fixed base order per city, based on when the clinic was added to the register. For the first clinics added, it was based on the order in an online search for the treatment in the city. The base order is not a quality assessment.
- Finally, alphabetical order.
Historically imported reviews are not used in any sorting, and payment does not affect the order. Paid placements may occur and, if so, are always clearly labelled as Sponsored.
Information level on the comparison page
When you compare clinics, we show how many of the following eight criteria each profile meets:
- Checked clinic information
Skönhetskollen has checked at least one of the following: that the clinic is registered with IVO, that it has valid liability insurance or that it has claimed its profile. This is not a quality assessment.
- Profile claimed by the clinic
The clinic has applied for and been given access to manage its profile with us.
- Checked prices
At least one price that we have read from the clinic's published price list, with the date of the check.
- Reviews left via Skönhetskollen
Reviews with a known source that were left via Skönhetskollen. Historically imported reviews do not count.
- Clear practitioner information
The clinic states at least one practitioner and their role.
- Medically responsible person named
Whether a medically responsible physician or equivalent is stated. Mainly relevant for injectable treatments.
- Before/after examples
Whether the clinic has published before/after examples, which make it easier to understand what the treatment can achieve.
- Stated response time
Whether there is information on how quickly the clinic usually responds to enquiries.
How the levels are calculated
We count how many of the criteria above are met. The thresholds are deliberately simple:
- High information level: at least 6 of 8 criteria met.
- Medium information level: 4–5 criteria met.
- Low information level: fewer than 4 criteria met.
What we do not assess
We make no statements about medical competence, treatment outcomes or whether one clinic is "better" than another. Nothing we show replaces a personal consultation with licensed healthcare professionals. Use our platform as a first selection – not as a final basis for your decision.
Is this biased?
Skönhetskollen may be funded through clinic accounts and advertising. Paid placements may occur and are always clearly labelled as Sponsored. Payment affects neither the default sorting, the information level nor which details we have checked – a clinic raises its information level by completing its profile, not by paying.
