What this page answers: What a consultation before an aesthetic treatment costs, when it is free and when the fee is deducted. The figures come from what 27 clinics in 14 Swedish cities publish on their own websites, collected in October 2026.
What does a consultation at a beauty clinic cost?
An in-person consultation usually costs between SEK 300 and 390 at the clinics that charge for it, and the median is SEK 350. Of 27 clinics that state their own terms, 17 charge for an in-person consultation, while 8 offer a free consultation.
Among the 17 clinics that charge a fee, the lowest stated fee for an in-person consultation is SEK 200 and the highest SEK 700. 14 of the 17 clinics are between SEK 300 and 390. 8 of the clinics with a fee are branches of Akademikliniken, which has the same price list in every city. Counting Akademikliniken only once, the median is SEK 300.
Two clinics in the data do not state a fixed price: Ara Kliniken states that the consultation can be free or cost SEK 495 depending on the treatment, and By Me Clinic does not publish a fee.

Is the consultation free?
The consultation is free at about a third of the clinics in the data: 8 of 27 clinics state a free consultation, 1 of them only for certain treatments. Another 4 clinics offer a free consultation by phone or online but charge when you come to the clinic.
A free consultation can differ from a paid one in how long it takes and who you see. Ask the clinic what is included before you book, whether or not the consultation costs anything.
What determines what the consultation costs?
Who you see and how the consultation takes place affect the price most in the data. Four factors recur across the clinics:
- The practitioner's profession. At clinics that state both prices, a consultation with a doctor costs more than with a nurse: Akademikliniken charges SEK 350 with an injection nurse and SEK 600 with a doctor, and Forma Vita charges SEK 500 with a nurse and SEK 1,500 with a doctor. APS-kliniken in Halmstad states SEK 700 for a consultation with a plastic surgeon.
- Online or in person. 4 clinics offer a free online or phone consultation but charge SEK 200–300 for a visit to the clinic.
- Type of treatment. Some clinics charge a higher fee for a particular treatment. Estetikcentrum in Malmö charges SEK 390 for a regular consultation and SEK 490 for a consultation before a thread lift.
- Deduction when treated. 3 clinics deduct the fee or do not charge for the consultation if you go ahead with the treatment, on different terms.
Is the consultation fee deducted if I have the treatment?
The consultation fee is deducted at some clinics, but not at most: 3 of 27 clinics in the data state some form of deduction. The terms differ:
- 3D Beauty Clinic in Malmö does not charge for the in-person consultation if the treatment is done during the booked time.
- Forma Vita in Stockholm deducts the consultation fee if the treatment is done within three months.
- Ara Kliniken in Stockholm deducts the fee for an in-person consultation before Sculptra when the treatment is carried out.
If the clinic does not mention a deduction, ask before you book. Ask for the terms in writing, for example in the booking confirmation.
Can I have the injection treatment on the same day as the consultation?
No, not for a first injection treatment. Before an aesthetic injection treatment there is a cooling-off period of at least two days after you have received the information about the treatment. If the same type of injection treatment is repeated within six months, no new cooling-off period is required. This follows from the Swedish Act (2021:363) on aesthetic surgical procedures and aesthetic injection treatments, sections 11–12, and Ordinance (2021:367) section 5.
Plan for two visits when you start a new injection treatment: first the consultation, then the treatment at least two days later.
What should I take away from the consultation?
After the consultation you should have a written price quote for the treatment itself and know who will perform it. The consultation fee is only part of the cost; the price of the treatment comes on top, unless the fee is deducted.
Keep the details from each clinic you consult: the consultation fee, the proposed price of the treatment, who you saw and the terms for deduction or rebooking. With the same details from two or three clinics, it is easier to compare the offers before you decide.
How do I compare consultation terms before I book?
Compare four things: the fee, who you see, whether the fee is deducted and how the cooling-off period affects your visits. Use this checklist when you contact clinics:
- Ask what the consultation costs, both in person and online.
- Ask who you will see: a nurse, a doctor or a dentist.
- Ask whether the fee is deducted if you have the treatment, and on what terms (time limit, type of treatment).
- Ask what the consultation includes, for example a treatment plan and a price quote for the treatment itself.
- Plan for the cooling-off period of at least two days before a new injection treatment.
- Ask whether the business is registered with the Health and Social Care Inspectorate (IVO).
